News has been pouring out of Africa recently about the horrifying surge in elephant poaching, including in Kenya’s national parks.
First we had Dr. Cynthia Moss releasing a report on the escalation in poaching of Amboseli’s famous elephants, now in grave danger of being decimated for the ivory trade.

Please see this press release from Humane Society International (Canada) on the senseless slaying of two hundred seal pups on Hay Island, Nova Scotia.
It had seemed that these seals were to be spared but as you will read in the release, the blood of the innocent was yet again spilled.

Dogs tied outside stores are sitting ducks

I spend way too much of my time standing on sidewalks watching over dogs that have been tied outside stores waiting for their owners to return, whereupon I educate them about how dangerous this practice is.
Mostly the dogs look very unhappy, fearful and highly stressed the entire time the owner is gone.
